About the Role
The Staff HR Business Partner is the go-to advisor for complex human capital challenges. What You'll Do
- Partner with business leaders to develop and execute talent strategies that support GM's strategic objectives
- Serve as the primary HR contact for your business area, handling complex employee relations matters and providing thoughtful guidance on policy and legal compliance
- Support talent acquisition, development, and retention initiatives that build strong leadership pipelines and engage top performers
- Design and facilitate organizational development programs, including leadership coaching, team effectiveness work, and change management
- Provide analytics and insights on HR metrics and workforce trends to inform business decisions
- Advise on compensation strategies, benefits programs, and policies that attract and retain talent
- Coach managers on people leadership, performance management, and creating inclusive team environments
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of HR business partner experience, with demonstrated success in strategic HR roles
- Deep knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and organizational development
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect HR decisions to business outcomes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to influence without authority and navigate complex organizational environments
- Proficiency with HR analytics, data interpretation, and HRIS systems
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred
