Adjunct Instructor of Biology – Anatomy & Physiology

About the Role

As an Adjunct Instructor of Biology specializing in Anatomy & Physiology at North Central College, you will teach undergraduate anatomy and physiology courses across multiple sections and semesters. Your responsibilities will include developing course curricula, delivering lectures, supervising laboratory instruction, assessing student learning, and maintaining comprehensive records of student progress. You'll collaborate with colleagues in the Department of Biology and throughout the College of Arts and Sciences to support student achievement and contribute to institutional learning objectives.

What You'll Do

• Teach anatomy and physiology lecture courses to undergraduate students
• Facilitate hands-on laboratory sessions, ensuring students gain practical experience with anatomical structures and physiological principles
• Develop and refine course content, learning objectives, and assessment strategies aligned with departmental expectations
• Evaluate student performance through exams, practical demonstrations, and other assessment methods
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records using institutional learning management systems
• Participate in departmental meetings and engage in professional development opportunities
• Provide academic support and mentoring to students during designated office hours

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree (MS) in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent advanced preparation such as doctoral candidacy
• Demonstrated teaching experience in anatomy, physiology, or related biological sciences
• Solid command of human anatomy and physiology with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly to diverse learners
• Experience supervising laboratory instruction and facilitating hands-on student learning experiences
• Dedication to student success and alignment with the college's educational values
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty and adapt to changing institutional priorities
