About the Role
As Survey Party Chief, you oversee field survey operations on multiple projects in your assigned region. You manage survey crews, supervise technical fieldwork, maintain accuracy standards, and ensure all activities comply with project specifications and safety requirements. Your leadership and surveying expertise drive successful project delivery.
What You'll Do
- Supervise survey field crews and direct crew members on project sites
- Operate and manage surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS equipment, and levels
- Establish survey control points and perform precise measurements according to project requirements
- Collect, document, and verify field survey data with rigorous accuracy standards
- Maintain detailed field records and coordinate with engineering teams and project managers
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure full compliance with jobsite and regulatory requirements
- Manage equipment maintenance and field logistics
What We're Looking For
- Multiple years of surveying experience with progression to or at the supervisory level
- Operational expertise with surveying instruments and technology
- Solid knowledge of surveying methods, standards, and applicable regulations
- Proven supervisory ability and strong interpersonal skills
- Physical capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and challenging terrain
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- Flexibility to work at field locations throughout the Southeast region as assigned
