About the Role
As Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, you'll be instrumental in advancing recruitment efforts and building a diverse, engaged student body. Working alongside the admissions team, you'll represent the university's mission and values to prospective students and families while managing key aspects of our enrollment pipeline.
What You'll Do
- Meet with prospective students and their families to discuss academic programs, campus culture, and the University of New Haven experience
- Conduct campus tours and participate in recruitment events, both on and off campus
- Travel regionally and nationally to represent the university at college fairs, high school visits, and community events
- Review and evaluate undergraduate applications with attention to academic achievement and potential for success
- Communicate with applicants at various stages of the enrollment process, answering questions and providing guidance
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to recruitment activities and applicant data
- Collaborate with faculty, student life staff, and other departments to showcase university strengths and opportunities
- Support enrollment goals and contribute to strategic recruitment initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience in higher education admissions, student recruitment, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities and genuine interest in working with students
- Willingness to travel for recruitment purposes
- Organized, detail-oriented approach to managing applications and candidate information
- Enthusiasm for representing a dynamic, academically rigorous institution
