Join Valley View Community Unit School District 365U as a full-time Bilingual Special Education Paraprofessional at Jamie L. McGee Elementary School. We're hiring two dedicated professionals to support students with disabilities through bilingual instruction and individualized academic and behavioral support during the 2026/2027 school year.
About the Role
This full-time paraprofessional position places you at the heart of inclusive education, working directly with students who benefit from specialized instructional support and bilingual communication. You'll support classroom teachers and special education staff in delivering services to students with disabilities, helping create a welcoming, equitable learning environment where every student can succeed.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct instructional support to students with disabilities in general and special education classrooms
- Assist in implementing individualized education plan (IEP) goals and classroom lesson activities
- Communicate with students and families in both English and Spanish to ensure understanding and engagement
- Support student behavior management, social-emotional development, and daily living skills
- Monitor and document student progress and report findings to teachers and special education staff
- Work collaboratively under the supervision of licensed special education teachers and administrators
- Help create accessible, inclusive classroom materials and resources
What We're Looking For
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow classroom routines, implement strategies, and respond positively to feedback
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful educational environment
- Experience with students with disabilities or special education strongly preferred
