Senior Project Manager, Natural Gas Project Delivery Permitting and Compliance (Field Based)

ERM is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Natural Gas Project Delivery, Permitting and Compliance to join our team in Houston, Harris County. In this full-time, field-based role, you'll lead regulatory strategy and project delivery for Natural Gas Act-regulated infrastructure across the United States, supporting both client retention and business growth initiatives.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of the permitting and compliance function for energy development projects. You'll work directly with clients and regulatory agencies to navigate the complex landscape of natural gas infrastructure projects, balancing technical requirements with regulatory timelines and commercial objectives. This position offers the opportunity to drive industry relationships and position ERM as a thought leader in energy project delivery.

What You'll Do

• Lead permitting strategy and regulatory compliance for natural gas projects and infrastructure development
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to advance project approvals
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely advancement of client objectives
• Serve as primary client interface for permitting and compliance matters
• Identify and pursue new business development opportunities within the energy sector
• Develop and refine industry relationships to support current and prospective client needs
• Prepare technical documentation, permit applications, and compliance reports
• Lead cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with project goals

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing permitting and compliance for natural gas or energy infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of Natural Gas Act regulations and federal/state permitting processes
• Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development
• Project management expertise with ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Field-based work capacity and willingness to travel as needed
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
