About the Role
As Deputy City Attorney for the City of Edinburg, you'll partner with the City Attorney to provide legal counsel on municipal operations, policy, and governance. You'll represent the City in litigation and administrative proceedings, handling matters that directly impact city services and residents throughout Hidalgo County.
What You'll Do
- Advise city departments and leadership on legal issues including contracts, regulatory compliance, employment matters, and land use
- Represent the City of Edinburg in civil litigation and court proceedings
- Prepare and review municipal ordinances, resolutions, agreements, and legal memoranda
- Counsel city officials on legal duties and authority related to their official roles
- Support the City Attorney's office in managing municipal legal matters and priorities
