Credit and Collection Analyst

Mahoney Environmental Solutions is hiring a full-time Credit and Collection Analyst at our Woodridge, Illinois location in DuPage County. If you're detail-oriented and skilled at managing customer accounts and collections, we'd like to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Credit and Collection Analyst with Mahoney Environmental Solutions, you'll play a key part in our accounting operations. You'll manage past-due accounts, work directly with customers to resolve outstanding balances, and help ensure our company's financial health.

What You'll Do

• Review customer financial information and creditworthiness to make informed decisions on credit limits and payment terms
• Contact customers with delinquent accounts to collect outstanding payments and resolve aged receivables
• Evaluate and authorize or deny customer requests for payment extensions based on account history and financial standing
• Analyze customer credit profiles and payment patterns to identify risks and opportunities
• Maintain detailed records of collection activities, account status, and customer communications
• Work with the accounting department to reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy in the general ledger
• Develop and implement collection strategies to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow

What We're Looking For

• Experience in credit analysis, collections, or a related accounting function
• Strong communication skills — you'll interact regularly with customers at all levels
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Professional demeanor and the ability to handle difficult customer conversations with diplomacy
• Knowledge of credit management best practices and collections procedures
