About the Role

As a Supervising Animal Care Attendant with the County of San Diego, you will oversee daily animal care operations while providing direct supervision to care staff. What You'll Do

• Supervise and mentor animal care attendant staff, providing guidance on shelter protocols and best practices
• Perform and oversee essential animal care duties including feeding, cleaning, health monitoring, and enrichment activities
• Maintain detailed records of animal intake, health status, and care provided
• Conduct routine health checks and report concerning conditions to veterinary staff
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility standards for both staff and animals
• Train team members on animal handling techniques, disease prevention, and customer service
• Assist with animal behavior assessment and preparation for adoption or transfer
• Support special events and community programs related to animal care and welfare

Compensation and Employment Details
