Condé Nast is seeking a Director, Newsletter Strategy & Email Operations to lead newsletter development and email marketing initiatives across our portfolio of world-renowned publications. This is a full-time position based in the United States.
About the Role
As Director of Newsletter Strategy & Email Operations, you will oversee the strategic direction and operational execution of our newsletter and email marketing programs. You'll develop and implement comprehensive strategies to grow subscriber engagement, retention, and monetization across our brand portfolio while managing the teams and systems that bring these initiatives to life.
What You'll Do
- Lead development and execution of newsletter strategies aligned with broader business objectives and audience growth goals
- Oversee day-to-day email operations, including campaign scheduling, technical optimization, and deliverability management
- Manage and mentor a team dedicated to newsletter content, audience development, and email operations
- Analyze performance metrics and subscriber data to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic recommendations
- Collaborate across editorial, marketing, product, and business teams to integrate newsletter initiatives with overall company strategy
- Develop and maintain best practices for email design, segmentation, personalization, and audience targeting
- Drive innovation in newsletter formats, monetization approaches, and subscriber experiences
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure newsletter program success
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in email marketing, newsletter management, or related digital marketing disciplines
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving organizational change
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in email marketing platforms and audience analytics tools
- Deep understanding of email marketing strategy, subscriber segmentation, and engagement optimization
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Strategic mindset with ability to balance short-term performance goals and long-term growth
- Experience in media, publishing, or consumer-focused digital businesses preferred
