Elementary Teacher – Special Education : ARISE

Peoria Unified School District seeks a certified elementary special education teacher to join the ARISE program at Marshall Ranch Elementary in Glendale. This full-time position supports PreK-8 students in a self-contained special education classroom, beginning July 28, 2026.

About the Role

As an Elementary Special Education teacher, you'll lead a self-contained classroom within the Department of Special Education, serving students with diverse learning and support needs. Working under the direction of the school's principal, you'll deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) while fostering an inclusive, supportive learning community. This is a nine-month position within the Peoria Unified School District in Maricopa County.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies grounded in evidence-based practices and responsive to student IEP goals
• Create a safe, structured classroom environment that encourages academic engagement and social-emotional growth
• Conduct ongoing progress monitoring, maintain detailed student records, and communicate outcomes with families and team members
• Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, and families to coordinate comprehensive student support
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques that align with district initiatives
• Adapt materials, pacing, and instructional delivery to meet the unique strengths and needs of each learner

What We're Looking For

• Current Arizona teaching certification in Special Education (elementary endorsement)
• Strong understanding of special education law, IEP development, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students across a range of disabilities and learning profiles
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, colleagues, and school partners
• Commitment to creating inclusive, student-centered classroom environments
• Passion for helping every student achieve academic and personal growth
