About the Role
In this Telephonic Nurse Practitioner position with UnitedHealth Group, you will deliver remote clinical guidance to patients during after-hours periods. This is a phone-centered role focused on triage and continuity of care, based out of Talcott Village in Hartford County. External candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic after-hours clinical support to patients across covered service areas.
- Cover scheduled evening, overnight, and rotating weekend shifts as part of the on-call rotation.
- Assess patient needs by phone, offer appropriate clinical direction, and coordinate next steps in care.
- Work within the Optum Home & Community Care model to support patients in their home and community settings.
Qualifications
- Hold an active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in at least one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island.
- Be willing and able to obtain licensure in additional states as required for the role.
- Availability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours, including evenings, nights, and rotating weekends.
- Comfort delivering care and clinical decision-making in a telephonic, remote-contact environment.
