About the Role

As a Workers Compensation Claims Examiner, you'll manage the complex investigation, evaluation, and resolution of workers compensation claims within the New York jurisdiction. What You'll Do

  • Investigate and examine workers compensation claims filed within New York, applying detailed knowledge of NY jurisdiction-specific regulations and precedents
  • Evaluate medical records, witness statements, and evidence to determine claim validity and appropriate benefit levels
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and coordinate recovery efforts against responsible third parties
  • Prepare thorough claim files and detailed reports documenting investigation findings and recommendations
  • Ensure all claim handling complies with New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) requirements and state workers compensation law
  • Communicate claim decisions clearly to claimants, employers, and medical providers
  • Maintain organized records and meet established claim handling timelines
