What You'll Do
- Investigate and examine workers compensation claims filed within New York, applying detailed knowledge of NY jurisdiction-specific regulations and precedents
- Evaluate medical records, witness statements, and evidence to determine claim validity and appropriate benefit levels
- Identify subrogation opportunities and coordinate recovery efforts against responsible third parties
- Prepare thorough claim files and detailed reports documenting investigation findings and recommendations
- Ensure all claim handling complies with New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) requirements and state workers compensation law
- Communicate claim decisions clearly to claimants, employers, and medical providers
- Maintain organized records and meet established claim handling timelines
What We're Looking For
- Current New York workers compensation examiner license or equivalent state certification
- Demonstrated experience handling workers compensation claims under New York jurisdiction
- Proven expertise in subrogation identification, investigation, and recovery processes
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of NY workers compensation statutes, administrative codes, and case law
