What You'll Do

• Design and oversee enterprise-wide tax strategies that optimize the company’s position while remaining fully compliant with Canadian and relevant international tax frameworks.
• Lead comprehensive tax planning, risk assessment, and scenario analysis to support mergers, investments, reorganizations, and day-to-day operations.
• Provide clear counsel to senior leadership and cross-functional teams on the tax implications of commercial decisions and emerging regulatory changes.
• Direct tax compliance activities, including preparation reviews, audit responses, and filings, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Build and coach a high-performing tax team, setting priorities, mentoring talent, and fostering continuous professional development.
• Monitor legislative and case-law developments affecting Canadian tax practice and translate them into actionable recommendations for the organization.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and external advisors to integrate tax considerations into transactional and reporting processes.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated success in progressive senior tax roles culminating in VP-level or equivalent tax strategy experience, preferably within a Canadian corporate environment.
• Deep technical mastery of corporate tax, international tax principles, transfer pricing, and Canadian federal and provincial tax legislation.
• Professional designation such as CPA or equivalent credentials that support advanced tax work.
• Proven ability to translate complex tax concepts into practical business advice and to influence decision-makers at the executive level.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills with a track record of delivering results through teams.
• Capacity to balance strategic vision with meticulous attention to compliance and risk control in a fast-paced Toronto setting.
