About the Role
As a Special Education (Inclusion) Teacher Assistant with Grand Haven Area Public Schools, you will work alongside certified educators to provide individualized support that helps students with diverse learning needs participate fully in general education classrooms. The position is based on-site in the US and follows a four-day weekly schedule of Monday through Thursday, 7 hours per day for a total of 28 hours each week (specific hours to be determined). Pay begins at $16.60 per hour, with the rate adjusted according to relevant experience and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in delivering instruction and accommodations to students within an inclusion setting
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support tailored to each student's individualized learning plan
- Help students stay engaged, on task, and integrated within general education activities
- Support a safe, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment
- Reinforce academic, behavioral, and social skills under the direction of teaching staff
