Join the School District of Philadelphia as a Student Climate Staff member for School Year 2026-27. In this full-time position, you'll directly impact students' daily experiences and contribute to building a school culture where all young people feel safe, respected, and supported.
About the Role
The Student Climate Staff position is central to creating positive school environments. Operating on a 3/4 time schedule, this role positions you to work collaboratively with students and school teams across Philadelphia schools. You'll focus on fostering positive behaviors, implementing restorative practices, and helping students navigate daily school interactions successfully.
What You'll Do
- Master routine school procedures and protocols, becoming an expert in your school's operations
- Apply PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) strategies to reinforce positive student behavior
- Implement restorative practices to address conflicts constructively and build stronger community relationships
- Support individual students and groups in school settings, encouraging engagement and participation
- Maintain a welcoming, safe environment within your assigned areas of the school
- Receive and follow directions from school leadership through both written and verbal communication
- Establish professional relationships with students and staff based on trust and respect
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficiency in reading and writing English
- Openness to learning school procedures and evidence-based practices like PBIS and restorative justice
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students
- Strong listening skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Genuine commitment to supporting student success and school community
