Survivability Strategist – GM Defense

General Motors Defense is hiring a Survivability Strategist in Archer, Laramie County to lead strategic planning and execution of resilience capabilities across our advanced defense vehicle platforms. Full-time position serving US military and government security partners worldwide.

About the Role

You'll own survivability strategy for next-generation defense systems, translating mission requirements into engineering priorities and operational excellence. This role sits at the intersection of vehicle engineering, autonomous systems, advanced connectivity, and power solutions—ensuring every GM Defense platform delivers uncompromised performance in demanding, high-consequence environments.

What You'll Do

• Establish and evolve survivability approaches spanning vehicle protection, power and propulsion, autonomy, and network capabilities
• Bridge customer mission needs to technical roadmaps and manufacturing reality
• Drive cross-functional alignment among engineering, production, and program leadership on survivability priorities
• Validate design and performance through analysis, testing, and field assessment
• Engage directly with military and government customers to clarify requirements and demonstrate solutions
• Harness General Motors' proven vehicle platforms, engineering depth, and manufacturing scale to accelerate technology transition from concept to deployment

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, defense technology, systems management, or equivalent professional experience
• Demonstrated expertise in military systems, defense procurement, or large-scale program leadership
• Track record translating operational and customer requirements into strategic and technical direction
• Knowledge of vehicle systems, autonomous technologies, connectivity architectures, or energy systems
• Strong stakeholder management and persuasion across technical and executive audiences
• Security clearance eligibility preferred; existing clearance beneficial
