About the Role

As a Die Maker Journeyperson at the General Motors Denver facility in Miami County, you will operate with a high degree of independence, contributing your expertise to the full lifecycle of die work — from initial fabrication through ongoing maintenance and repair. This position is central to keeping manufacturing operations running at peak performance.

What You'll Do

• Build, fabricate, repair, remodel, and maintain all classes of dies using a range of materials and tooling methods
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to produce precision die components
• Operate conventional and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM equipment
• Perform precise measurement and inspection of die components to verify dimensional accuracy
• Diagnose die performance issues and execute effective corrective repairs to minimize downtime
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and adhere to General Motors' established safety protocols at every stage of work
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area in line with plant standards

What We're Looking For

• Journeyperson-level certification or equivalent demonstrated experience as a Die Maker in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and engineering documentation
• Hands-on experience building and repairing stamping, progressive, or transfer dies
• Skilled with precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, and surface gauges
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently manage assigned tasks
• Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe shop practices
• Solid understanding of metals, tool steel, and other die-making materials
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented work ethic
