Supplemental Health Claim Analyst

Join Mutual Of Omaha as a Supplemental Health Claim Analyst in our Cancer Hospital Claims Department. This is a full-time, phone-intensive position based in the United States where you'll process and evaluate supplemental health insurance claims with accuracy and care.

The Opportunity

This is a meaningful opportunity to support customers during important health moments. You'll work in a structured environment where precision, compliance, and exceptional service go hand in hand. Training begins August 31st with a comprehensive 6-week program (Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm CST). After training, your ongoing schedule will be Monday–Thursday, 9am–5:30pm CST, and Friday, 8:30am–5pm CST, with occasional overtime as business needs require. You'll be part of a collaborative team equipped with the resources and support needed to deliver strong results.

Your Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance claims accurately based on medical documentation and contract terms, maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Handle inbound and outbound calls to gather necessary information from customers and providers, resolving questions and finalizing claims
• Deliver professional customer service across phone and email channels, using service recovery techniques to address concerns and create positive interactions
• Analyze claim scenarios, assess relevant information, and make sound decisions that align with established procedures and protect data integrity
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams to explain claim determinations and build trust

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and reliable time management
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team-based environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with computer systems including email, data entry, and Microsoft products; solid typing speed
• Customer-focused mindset with flexibility to adapt your approach to different situations
• Capacity to follow structured processes while prioritizing compliance and quality outcomes
• Right to work in the United States (no sponsorship required)
• Preferred: Insurance industry experience or knowledge of medical terminology
