Strategic BD Account Manager, DOW USAF Sales Team

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Strategic BD Account Manager for its Department of Defense USAF Sales Team, based in Herndon, Fairfax County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive business development strategy and account growth for one of the U.S. Air Force's most critical technology partnerships, bridging cutting-edge cloud innovation with the nation's defense mission.

About the Role

As a Strategic BD Account Manager on AWS's DOW USAF Sales Team, you will own the full account relationship with the Air Force, developing and executing business development initiatives that expand AWS's footprint in advanced defense applications. You'll navigate the intersection of cloud computing, satellite communications, generative AI, and edge computing—technologies that are reshaping defense strategy and Air Force operational capability.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to expand AWS solutions and services adoption within the Air Force
• Build and maintain deep relationships with senior Air Force leaders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable strategic and business value
• Identify and pursue opportunities at the intersection of cloud, satellite communications, artificial intelligence, and edge computing for mission-critical Air Force applications
• Collaborate with AWS technical teams to architect solutions that meet Air Force operational requirements, security standards, and strategic objectives
• Lead account strategy and roadmap development in partnership with Air Force stakeholders and defense enterprise leaders

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in business development, account management, or strategic sales within the U.S. defense or government sector
• Deep understanding of the Air Force mission, organizational priorities, and decision-making structures
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts to senior defense leaders and military stakeholders
• Experience or working knowledge of cloud computing, satellite communications, generative AI, or edge computing technologies
• Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills in complex, high-stakes government environments
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; active security clearance or ability to obtain one preferred
