Dollar General is hiring a Store Perishable Manager to oversee fresh food operations at our Meers, Comanche County location. As a full-time team member, you'll play a critical role in maintaining product quality, food safety standards, and customer satisfaction across our perishable departments.

About the Role

The Store Perishable Manager position involves hands-on leadership of all perishable merchandise categories, including produce, dairy, frozen foods, and refrigerated sections. You'll ensure freshness, proper rotation, and compliance with health and safety regulations while delivering an excellent shopping experience for our customers.

What You'll Do

• Manage daily operations of produce, dairy, and frozen food departments, including receiving, stocking, and merchandising
• Monitor product quality and implement strict rotation procedures to minimize waste and ensure food safety
• Train and supervise team members in proper handling, storage, and display techniques
• Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate with store management on ordering and stock levels
• Ensure compliance with health codes, temperature monitoring, and sanitation standards
• Build relationships with customers and respond to questions about product freshness and availability
• Participate in price changes, promotions, and seasonal product launches
• Contribute to store cleanliness and organization in perishable areas

What We're Looking For

• Retail experience in perishable departments or similar grocery/food service environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety, health codes, and temperature control standards
• Ability to lift regularly, stand for extended periods, and work in cool/refrigerated environments
• Leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and work effectively with team members
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards for product quality and store appearance
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work scheduled hours, including early mornings or weekends as needed
• Customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
