Sr. Network and Security Engineer

Join Jobgether as a Sr. Network and Security Engineer in a fully remote position serving clients across Canada. We're seeking an experienced infrastructure specialist to architect, implement, and safeguard enterprise-grade network systems for our diverse client portfolio in a full-time capacity.

Position Summary

This role sits within our partner's managed services team, where you'll own the design, deployment, and ongoing optimization of secure, high-performance network infrastructure serving enterprise clients. You'll tackle complex infrastructure challenges—from initial architecture through production support—while maintaining direct collaboration with clients to understand and address their evolving business requirements. This position rewards deep technical expertise and the ability to translate security mandates into reliable, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and fine-tune enterprise network architectures spanning multiple client environments and geographies
• Deploy and manage comprehensive security systems, including firewalls, access policies, and intrusion mitigation
• Architect SD-WAN solutions and configure advanced routing protocols for optimal performance
• Oversee data centre network infrastructure, ensuring redundancy, failover readiness, and business continuity
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues through systematic hands-on troubleshooting and performance analysis
• Lead infrastructure modernization projects from scope definition through delivery and validation
• Engage with clients to document requirements, articulate technical trade-offs, and recommend strategic improvements
• Continuously harden network security while maintaining operational performance and user experience

Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced, hands-on expertise with Cisco switching, routing, and network infrastructure platforms
• Strong production experience deploying and managing Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and security solutions
• Proven knowledge of SD-WAN design, implementation, and operational management
• Solid understanding of data centre networking, redundancy architecture, and failover design
• Ability to architect comprehensive network security strategies aligned with business risk profiles
• Demonstrated success troubleshooting multi-site, mission-critical network environments
• Professional client-facing communication and infrastructure project management experience
• Background supporting enterprise clients in a managed services context
