Merrimack School District is hiring two full-time Special Education Teachers to join our Middle School special education team. If you're a certified special educator passionate about working with students who need individualized support, we'd like to meet you.
About the Role
These full-time positions are based at Merrimack Middle School, where you'll deliver specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. You'll be part of a collaborative team within our Special Education Department, working to help every student reach their potential.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction that meets each student's unique learning needs and goals
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute expertise to student planning
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust instruction based on evidence and assessment data
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that builds confidence and fosters academic and social development
What We're Looking For
- General Special Education certification or equivalent state credentials
- Direct experience participating in IEP team processes and collaborative educational planning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to meeting the diverse needs of special education learners
- Organized approach to documentation, data tracking, and classroom management
