Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential edge cloud platform provider seeking a Senior SRE with specialized Networks expertise. This remote role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure that serves a significant portion of internet traffic globally, spanning multiple continents with extensive network capacity.

We're seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer who combines deep networking knowledge with SRE principles and automation skills to help build and maintain a world-class global network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and maintain a continually growing global network footprint for an edge cloud platform
• Respond to significant traffic incidents and lead network incident resolution, addressing edge cases and failure scenarios with expertise in IP routing, particularly BGP
• Write performant, maintainable, clear, and concise code and contribute to code reviews, improving the codebase and team processes
• Partner in the development and iteration of tools and automation systems that improve network operations and deployment
• Innovate new methods for monitoring network performance with focus on end-user experience and proactively address potential issues
• Conduct deep-dive performance-based analytics and collaborate closely with partner teams to maintain optimal global network performance
• Advocate for operational stability by identifying opportunities and partnering with engineering teams to shape roadmaps and software solutions
• Mentor team members on the complexities of global routing, especially in anycast-heavy environments

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience with protocols and practices that comprise the global internet, including TCP/IP, BGP, Anycast, and DNS
• Proven experience in automation and coding using Python or similar languages
• Proficiency working with Tier 1 Internet service providers, Internet exchanges, and cloud providers
• Ability to analyze internet traffic patterns across multiple dimensions using flow-based tools
• Experience with alerting, monitoring, and visibility tools such as Graphite/Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk
• Knowledge across cloud hosting solutions including GCP, AWS, and Azure
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Ansible)
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration and network stack optimization
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to share knowledge effectively to empower teams
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape technical roadmaps and prioritize initiatives

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience writing production-level code using VCL or Go
• Experience in network telemetry including instrumenting infrastructure and collecting, processing, storing, and analyzing data
• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams; previous remote work preferred

Work Schedule:

• Scheduled hours from 0800-1700 during core business hours
• Occasional nights and weekends as necessary to support on-call coverage

Location: This position can be hired as UK Remote or Hybrid in London.
