About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential independent game developer based in Cambridge, UK. Our client is seeking a Senior QA Tester to join their quality assurance team on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week on-site). This role offers the opportunity to work on creative management simulation games throughout all development phases, from pre-production through post-release content.
Responsibilities
- Write, run, and maintain medium-to-high risk test specifications and suites for new and existing projects
- Conduct playtesting using a variety of test personas, including destructive testing and player-like testing
- Identify and report issues in a clear and accurate manner
- Perform regression testing for both internal and external issues
- Act as point of contact for specific features, regularly collaborating with cross-discipline teams
- Provide guidance and technical mentoring to other testers, including documentation review and advanced troubleshooting
- Raise potential future hurdles for testing, pre-empt problems, and suggest best fixes and ideas
- Contribute to product information, identification of problem areas, and analysis of trends to anticipate and navigate risks
- May assume Assistant Lead or Team Lead responsibilities for specific phases or entire projects as needed
