Senior Philanthropy Officer

International Justice Mission seeks a full-time Senior Philanthropy Officer to join its US-based team. In this role, you'll drive philanthropic strategy and develop donor relationships that fund IJM's mission to rescue vulnerable people from violence and make justice accessible worldwide.

About the Role

As Senior Philanthropy Officer, you'll develop and execute strategic philanthropic initiatives that expand funding opportunities for International Justice Mission's global operations across more than 30 offices and over 1,200 dedicated team members. This position plays a central role in building sustainable donor relationships and securing resources that directly advance our mission to rescue millions and protect half a billion people from violence.

What You'll Do

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and philanthropic partners to advance fundraising goals
• Develop compelling grant proposals and funding applications aligned with International Justice Mission's strategic priorities
• Identify and pursue philanthropic funding opportunities that support IJM's mission to protect vulnerable populations
• Provide strategic counsel to organizational leadership on donor engagement and philanthropic direction
• Oversee donor stewardship activities and communication to ensure long-term partnership success
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to articulate International Justice Mission's impact and funding needs
• Research and evaluate potential funding sources and philanthropic partnerships

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in philanthropy, major gifts, foundation relations, or donor development at a senior level
• Deep understanding of the philanthropic landscape, foundation funding mechanisms, and donor motivations
• Proven ability to cultivate and close major gifts and multi-year funding commitments
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholder groups
• Experience in nonprofit organizations with missions focused on social justice, human rights, or international development
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in development or philanthropy
• Commitment to International Justice Mission's mission to end violence against vulnerable people
