(Senior) Manager Network Planning Train – Bau- & Jahresplanung (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential rail transport organization based in Berlin that is reshaping sustainable mobility across Germany. Our client operates at the intersection of infrastructure, operations, and commercial planning, and we're seeking a Network Planning Manager to help optimize train operations during complex construction phases.

In this role, you'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure the network remains attractive, reliable, and economically viable even during extensive infrastructure projects. You'll combine geographic knowledge, data analysis, and stakeholder management to develop solutions that keep trains running efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and optimization of annual timetable concepts, accounting for planned infrastructure maintenance and construction projects
• Analyze the impact of construction activities on the rail network and derive evidence-based recommendations and alternative routing concepts
• Conduct data-driven analyses using Excel, BI tools, and emerging AI applications to assess commercial impacts on demand, revenue, and costs
• Collaborate with Commercial Planning, Operations, and Service Planning teams to develop actionable solutions for construction-related challenges
• Prepare for and participate in stakeholder meetings with infrastructure operators, regulatory agencies, and partner organizations
• Represent the organization's interests in discussions about network capacity and construction coordination

What We're Looking For

• Strong knowledge of German transport geography and understanding of the relationships between infrastructure, operations, and economic viability
• Analytical mindset with excellent numerical skills and advanced Excel proficiency
• Professional experience in network planning, capacity management, transport, infrastructure, consulting, or comparable environments
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration
• Fluent German and English (C1 level) required
• Experience with specialized rail planning tools (KOMBau, FBS, IVU), SQL, Python, BI tools, or AI applications is a plus but not required
