Senior Java Backend Developer (Azure)

Mindera is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer (Azure) for a full-time position based in Chennai, India. In this role, you'll design, build, and scale robust cloud-native backend systems using Java and Microsoft Azure.

We're looking for an experienced backend engineer with strong Java expertise and hands-on experience with Azure cloud services. You'll take ownership of service architecture and performance, collaborate across teams to ship production-grade systems, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence. Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Java, following microservices patterns and cloud-native principles
• Build and maintain applications on the Azure cloud platform, leveraging services such as App Service, Azure SQL, and Azure Kubernetes Service
• Optimize code for performance, security, and maintainability; write clean, well-tested code with comprehensive unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and operations to deliver end-to-end features
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making to maintain code quality and system reliability
• Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and help develop the technical capabilities of the team
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement robust solutions

What You Bring

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Java and strong object-oriented design principles
• Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Azure services and cloud infrastructure; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, relational and NoSQL databases, and backend security best practices
• Proven track record of designing and delivering high-performance, reliable systems at scale
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in collaborative, distributed teams
• Experience with version control, testing frameworks, and modern development workflows
