What This Role Involves
As a Senior Java / Kotlin Backend Developer at Mindera, you'll design and build robust backend services that power our platform. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll influence both code quality and engineering standards across the team.
What You'll Do
- Architect and develop backend services using Java and Kotlin, with a focus on clean code, performance, and maintainability
- Design database schemas and query optimization for high-throughput environments
- Collaborate with frontend and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Review code, mentor junior developers, and establish technical best practices
- Identify performance bottlenecks, refactor legacy systems, and implement monitoring solutions
- Participate in technical design reviews and architectural decisions
What You Bring
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Java or Kotlin
- Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases
- Experience building RESTful APIs and working with microservices architecture
- Proficiency with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven ability to write testable code and familiarity with testing frameworks
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Problem-solving mindset and comfort working in a fully remote environment
