Senior DevOps Lead

We are representing a confidential enterprise technology client in Germany seeking a Senior DevOps Lead to spearhead observability platform initiatives. This fully remote role offers the chance to architect and scale state-of-the-art logging, monitoring, and tracing systems that support mission-critical applications across cloud and hybrid infrastructure.

You'll lead technical strategy for platforms processing high volumes of telemetry data daily, working with modern cloud-native technologies and influencing engineering practices across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of observability platforms including logs, metrics, traces, alerting, and synthetic monitoring capabilities
• Own and optimize large-scale observability pipelines leveraging technologies such as Filebeat, Kafka, Logstash, Elastic Cloud, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana Labs, Zabbix, and Anodot
• Build and maintain scalable, Kubernetes-based observability services using Helm, CI/CD pipelines, GCP, GKE, Docker, and cloud-native architectures
• Establish observability standards, dashboards, alerting frameworks, and best practices for engineering teams
• Partner with DevOps, SRE, Engineering, NOC, and Security teams to deliver reliable, actionable observability solutions
• Evaluate and drive adoption of emerging observability technologies including distributed tracing and anomaly detection
• Lead design and development of end-to-end synthetic monitoring platform running daily validation tests on cloud infrastructure
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across observability, DevOps, and cloud engineering disciplines

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related discipline with strong application development and cloud engineering background
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies including Docker
• Extensive hands-on experience with observability and monitoring technologies such as Grafana Labs, Zabbix, Fluentd, ELK, Kafka, and Prometheus
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) including compute, storage, networking, and related services
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Go, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Proven experience designing and operating highly available, scalable production systems
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and cloud-native development methodologies
• Experience with OpenTelemetry Collector and Grafana Agent highly preferred
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with ability to influence technical direction
