Cushman & Wakefield is hiring a Senior Counsel - Americas for our Cedar, Missouri office. This full-time legal role places you at the center of a dynamic, transaction-focused business where you'll provide strategic legal guidance, navigate complex commercial issues, and support senior leadership in a fast-moving real estate advisory environment.

About the Role

The Senior Counsel - Americas serves as an embedded legal advisor to our business divisions, delivering responsive, real-time legal counsel in support of our real estate advisory and transaction services. You'll function as a central legal point of accountability, balancing risk management with the commercial realities of closing deals and serving clients across our regional footprint. This position demands sharp judgment, the ability to quickly assess and communicate legal risk, and the communication skills to advise senior leaders on complex matters under time pressure.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to business leaders and transaction teams in a deal-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Assess legal risk across transactions and business matters; frame options and guide decision-making
  • Serve as a primary legal resource for company counsel and senior management on Americas-focused legal matters
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents supporting business operations
  • Research and advise on legal developments relevant to real estate advisory services and company operations
  • Collaborate with external counsel where specialized expertise is needed

What We're Looking For

  • JD from an accredited law school; admission to practice in at least one US jurisdiction
  • Strong foundation in commercial law, transactional practice, or business-focused legal work
  • Proven ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers
  • Commercial judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
