Senior Corporate Counsel – Corporate Trust Attorney

U.S. Bank seeks a Senior Corporate Counsel with expertise in corporate trust matters to join our legal team in Boston, Massachusetts. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide strategic legal guidance on complex trust administration, fiduciary responsibilities, and corporate governance matters for a leading financial services organization.

About the Role

As Senior Corporate Counsel focused on corporate trust, you'll serve as a trusted legal advisor to our Corporate Trust division, handling sophisticated legal issues and ensuring compliance with trust law and regulatory requirements. You'll work directly with business stakeholders to structure solutions, manage risk, and protect U.S. Bank's interests while serving our clients with the highest fiduciary standards.

What You'll Do

• Provide authoritative legal counsel on trust administration, beneficiary rights, estate planning compliance, and fiduciary obligations
• Review and draft corporate trust agreements, trust documents, and supporting legal instruments
• Navigate complex regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to trust law across jurisdictions
• Support dispute resolution efforts, including litigation strategy and settlement negotiations involving trust-related claims
• Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff on corporate trust legal matters
• Stay current with developments in trust law, estate law, and financial regulation affecting trust administration
• Collaborate with compliance, risk management, and business teams on legal initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar license in Massachusetts or willingness to obtain it
• 8+ years of legal experience in corporate trust, estate planning, fiduciary law, or related practice areas
• Deep knowledge of trust administration, fiduciary responsibility, and relevant state and federal laws
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills with the ability to distill complex matters for business audiences
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with business partners and legal teams
• Demonstrated problem-solving approach and business acumen
