Business Line Risk Manager – Consumer Lending Default

This full-time position leads the identification, assessment, and mitigation of credit risk exposure across the consumer lending portfolio, working to protect the bank's assets while supporting sound lending practices.

About the Role

In this hands-on leadership position, you'll oversee the default and loss management framework for consumer lending products. You'll develop and implement strategies that balance portfolio performance with prudent risk controls, working across business units and compliance teams to ensure the bank meets regulatory standards and risk appetite objectives.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and analyze default rates, loss trends, and credit performance across consumer lending segments
• Design and refine policies for credit risk identification, escalation, and resolution
• Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate portfolio resilience under adverse conditions
• Partner with operations, collections, and servicing teams to improve default management outcomes
• Prepare risk reports and dashboards for senior leadership and regulatory examiners
• Lead process improvements and control enhancements to reduce operational risk
• Support compliance reviews and external audits related to lending practices and risk governance

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in credit risk, risk management, or lending operations
• Strong knowledge of consumer credit fundamentals, default mechanics, and loss mitigation
• Proficiency with risk analytics, financial modeling, and data interpretation
• Experience with regulatory frameworks (CCAR, stress testing, Basel standards)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams
• Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail in managing complex datasets
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
