Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Diagnose production issues, improve observability, and drive root-cause fixes rather than temporary patches
• Collaborate with product and platform partners to scope work, clarify constraints, and ship incremental value
• Evaluate technical debt, propose improvements, and contribute to service architecture and standards
• Write clear documentation so critical services remain understandable and operable by the wider team

What You Bring

• Solid professional experience as a backend engineer, with evidence of senior-level ownership on production systems
• Strong command of at least one modern backend language and its ecosystem for service development
• Hands-on skill with relational or document databases, caching, and API design (REST or equivalent)
• Comfort with distributed systems concepts: concurrency, failure modes, messaging, and horizontal scaling
• Habit of writing testable, readable code and participating constructively in design and code reviews
• Clear written and spoken English suitable for day-to-day collaboration in an international team based in Spain (Hybrid)
• Ability to mentor others, break down ambiguous problems, and balance speed with long-term maintainability
