Senior Azure Data Engineer - Agentic AI Platform

About This Position
We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design of modern lakehouse platforms. As part of this role, you will be responsible for implementing scalable end-to-end solutions using Azure services such as OneLake, Fabric, Databricks, and Mirroring. You will also develop governance, security, and cost optimization strategies while mentoring junior engineers and advising stakeholders on data strategy.
What You'll Do
- Design architecture for lakehouse platforms utilizing Fabric/OneLake, Synapse, and Delta Lake
- Implement zero-ETL data integration via mirroring
- Create Unity Catalog for centralized data management and fine-grained access control, integrating with Purview
- Develop DataOps frameworks using Delta Live Tables, serverless SQL pools, and automated monitoring tools for performance and cost management
- Establish security and compliance concepts by integrating VNet, Private Link, Key Vault, and AD integration
- Mentor junior engineers, lead code reviews, and assist with architecture decisions
- Advise stakeholders on data strategy, technology selection, and business impact
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in designing and implementing lakehouse platforms using Azure services (OneLake, Fabric, Databricks, Mirroring)
- Familiarity with Unity Catalog and Purview for data management and governance
- Knowledge of DataOps frameworks and tools such as Delta Live Tables and serverless SQL pools
- Strong understanding of security and compliance concepts in cloud environments (VNet, Private Link, Key Vault, AD integration)
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading code reviews
- Aptitude for advising stakeholders on data strategy and technology selection
