Role Overview

The Agentic AI Platform Engineer at On in London will design, build and maintain production-grade platforms that let AI agents plan, execute and adapt across complex tasks. Working on site, you will turn research-grade agent capabilities into dependable systems that handle orchestration, tool use and continuous evaluation. The focus remains on scalable architecture that teams can trust for real-world agentic applications while collaborating closely with colleagues in the London office.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve core platform components that host multi-agent systems and coordinate their reasoning cycles
• Integrate large language models, memory stores and external tools so agents can complete multi-step objectives reliably
• Construct orchestration services that manage agent planning, execution traces and recovery from failures
• Optimise platform performance for throughput, latency and resource efficiency under concurrent agent loads
• Establish monitoring, evaluation frameworks and feedback loops that measure agent behaviour and platform health
• Partner with neighbouring engineering and research teams to productionise new agentic capabilities safely
• Embed security, observability and ethical guardrails into every layer of the agentic AI platform

Skills & Qualifications

• Solid command of Python together with hands-on experience of popular agent frameworks and LLM APIs
• Proven ability to build and operate cloud-native platforms using containers, Kubernetes and modern DevOps pipelines
• Working knowledge of vector search, retrieval techniques and memory systems that agents depend on
• Understanding of distributed systems design, service orchestration and modular software architecture
• Familiarity with evaluation methods that assess agent success rates, reliability and cost efficiency
• Clear communication and collaborative habits suited to an on-site engineering group in London
