Senior Applied AI Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential robotics organization in their search for a Senior Applied AI Engineer. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy AI solutions that enable advanced robotic systems to solve real-world industrial challenges. You'll apply machine learning and AI techniques under real-world constraints, delivering impactful and reliable systems that demonstrate measurable value in practical environments.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining AI-driven software applications for robotic systems, ensuring high performance and reliability
• Collaborating with hardware engineers, system architects, and software engineers to integrate AI applications with robotic hardware
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and industry standards
• Testing and validating AI applications in real-world environments, ensuring they meet performance and safety requirements
• Providing technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders
• Staying current with the latest advancements in AI and robotics, integrating relevant innovations into development processes

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience working with real robotic hardware and AI applications in industrial environments
• Strong understanding of multimodal learning concepts (e.g., vision-language-action models), including model architectures, training paradigms, and their advantages and limitations
• Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning, with hands-on experience deploying AI models in industrial or real-world use cases (e.g., reinforcement learning or world models)
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Beneficial skills:

• Familiarity with ROS
• Experience with simulation tools such as Mujoco, Nvidia Isaac-Sim, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with hardware interfacing and real-time operating systems
• Knowledge of software development tools and practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and Agile methodologies
