Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a School Age Childcare Assistant Site Director at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School in Newton, NJ. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling opportunities for morning (7:00 - 8:15 am) or afternoon (3:00 - 6:00 pm) programs, with the option to cover both if desired.
Core Duties
- Supervise and support school-age children in a safe and nurturing environment
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and program policies
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding child progress and needs
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance and daily activities
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those with relevant childcare experience or a degree in early childhood education
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is required
- Pediatric First Aid certification is preferred but not mandatory
- Background check and fingerprinting are required for employment
