Satellite Systems Software Engineer (SETA)

OMNI Consulting Solutions is seeking a Satellite Systems Software Engineer (SETA) in Seal Beach, California to deliver systems engineering and technical guidance on advanced national security space missions. This full-time position enables you to oversee satellite software development, integration, testing, and operations while supporting Government decision-makers on critical initiatives.

What This Role Involves

Your work as a Satellite Systems Software Engineer will center on advising Government stakeholders who oversee satellite software programs from conception through deployment. You'll evaluate how satellite software is architected, built, and tested. You'll ensure that development teams follow sound engineering practices and meet mission objectives. Working closely with Government agencies, contractors, and other systems engineering teams, you'll guide technical decisions that directly impact national security space capabilities. Your technical counsel will shape strategies for system performance, reliability, and long-term operational effectiveness across the complete development and deployment lifecycle.

Core Duties

• Review embedded software designs and development processes to verify alignment with program requirements, industry standards, and mission goals.
• Convert mission objectives and operational constraints into detailed software and system-level technical specifications for engineering teams.
• Attend and participate in integration testing, validation activities, and contractor-run test events to confirm software mission readiness.
• Track development progress and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, maintainability, performance, and mission success.
• Evaluate software and hardware integration approaches; provide technical findings to Government program leads.
• Investigate operational issues, satellite anomalies, and on-orbit events; deliver technical analysis and risk assessment to senior leadership.
• Develop technical reports, engineering assessments, program briefings, and analytical documents supporting Government stakeholders.
• Work across Government teams, prime contractors, and fellow systems engineers to surface, escalate, and resolve technical obstacles.
• Research and assess new technologies, development methodologies, and engineering tools applicable to national security space programs.

Qualifications

• Years of professional experience in software engineering roles supporting space systems, satellites, or mission-critical operations.
• Solid foundation in embedded systems design, integration methodologies, and firmware-to-hardware interfacing.
• Working knowledge of systems engineering practices, software architecture assessment, and engineering compliance review.
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph examination required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to travel as needed to integration and test facilities in California and New Mexico.
