About the Role
As an ROI Specialist, you'll manage patient medical records requests with precision and accountability. This is a fully on-site position where you'll determine which records can be released, verify requestor authorization, and coordinate the secure delivery of sensitive health information in compliance with all applicable regulations.
What You'll Do
- Process Release of Information (ROI) requests for patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Review requestor information and verify authorization against regulatory requirements
- Retrieve patient data from multiple sources—electronic health records, archived files, and paper records
- Determine which records are appropriate to release based on the scope of each request
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and internal departments to locate and compile patient information
- Maintain complete documentation of all ROI requests and record releases
What We're Looking For
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records privacy law
- Comfort with medical terminology and patient confidentiality protocols
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail abilities
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems or medical databases
- Professional communication with healthcare providers and other stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple requests independently in a structured environment
