RN – 7S

Seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to lead clinical operations on the 7S unit at DCH Health Care Authority in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County. In this full-time RN role, you'll deliver direct patient care while supervising a multidisciplinary team of licensed practical nurses and patient care assistants, setting the standard for quality nursing practice and therapeutic patient relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise direct nursing care across the 7S unit
• Oversee daily activities of licensed practical nurses, patient care assistants, and unit support staff
• Establish and reinforce clinical standards, best practices, and professional expectations
• Mentor and encourage team members while evaluating their performance and contributions
• Develop individualized care plans that prioritize patient safety and therapeutic outcomes
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama
• Minimum experience in hospital-based nursing and patient care delivery
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience with clinical or support staff
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced hospital setting
