About the Role
As a Registered Nurse/RN on the Mother Baby unit, you will plan, organize, and oversee high-quality, compassionate nursing care for postpartum patients and their infants. Working on-site in Tuscaloosa, you'll uphold the highest standards of professional nursing practice while building trusting, therapeutic relationships with patients and their families during one of life's most meaningful moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and direct individualized care plans that prioritize patient safety, comfort, and dignity.
- Maintain established standards of professional nursing practice across all aspects of mother and baby care.
- Foster positive, therapeutic connections with patients and their families to support recovery and bonding.
- Provide leadership to the care team by clearly communicating and assigning expected standards of care.
- Supervise and mentor LPNs, Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), and PCAs/US, encouraging their growth and recognizing their contributions.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while supporting and motivating fellow team members.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Knowledge of professional nursing standards and evidence-based, patient-centered care practices.
- Strong leadership, delegation, and supervisory skills to guide a multidisciplinary care team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage patients, families, and colleagues.
- A genuine commitment to delivering compassionate, quality care to mothers and newborns.
