About the Role
As a Repair and Tool Technician at Home Depot, you'll be the skilled expert customers rely on to restore their equipment to working condition. You'll work in both retail-based Tool Rental Centers and dedicated repair shops across Providence, performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse range of equipment—from lawnmowers and chainsaws to power drills and pressure washers. Beyond technical repairs, you'll evaluate equipment needs and provide customers with thoughtful recommendations on care, maintenance, and the right tool for their projects.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in small engines and outdoor power equipment
- Execute comprehensive repairs and preventive maintenance to restore equipment to operational standards
- Evaluate equipment condition and recommend appropriate service or repair solutions
- Advise customers on equipment selection, proper maintenance, and safe operation
- Document all repairs, parts usage, and service records accurately
- Verify completed repairs meet safety and quality requirements before customer pickup
- Support both Tool Rental Center operations and standalone repair facility workflows
