Role Overview

Backus Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (Graduate Nurse) for the Patient Care Unit (PCU) E3. As an RN on this unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring that all patients receive the best possible treatment in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patient needs to develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor their effectiveness
• Perform various diagnostic tests, treatments, and procedures under the direction of healthcare professionals
• Provide education to patients and families about health conditions, treatment options, and self-care measures
• Document patient care activities in medical records accurately and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care

Skills & Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut or eligible for licensure
• Graduate Nurse (GN) status required
• Completion of an accredited nursing program and successful completion of NCLEX-RN examination
• Experience working in a hospital setting preferred, but not mandatory
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Patient-centered approach with strong attention to detail and accuracy
