Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager

Gpac, a respected mechanical and HVAC contracting firm, is seeking a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Holiday, Orange County. In this full-time position, you'll advance your construction project management career while contributing to high-quality mechanical systems installations and service projects.

What This Role Involves

As our Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager, you'll bridge the gap between office coordination and field execution. Your work spans the entire project lifecycle—from initial plan review and estimating through scheduling, procurement, and successful project delivery. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, field crews, and clients to ensure projects stay on track, on budget, and meet our quality standards. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable in the field assessing conditions and in the office managing documentation and logistics.

Your Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand scope and identify potential challenges
• Assist with project scheduling, resource allocation, and material coordination
• Communicate with field teams to track progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with project requirements
• Support cost control efforts through careful monitoring of labor, materials, and equipment usage
• Prepare project reports, maintain documentation, and keep stakeholders informed of status
• Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and best practices
