We are seeking a strategic thinker to serve as a Principal Advisor in Planning and Performance within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). This role is fixed-term or secondment through until May 2027, based in Wellington. As a key member of our team, you will connect organisational priorities with planning and performance to deliver meaningful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategically aligning organisational goals with planning and performance metrics
Developing and implementing comprehensive plans that drive organisational success
Evaluating the effectiveness of current strategies and recommending improvements
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support
Providing expert advice on strategic initiatives and their impact on performance outcomes

Qualifications

Proven experience in strategic planning, performance management, or a related field
A minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as business, public administration, or a related discipline
