About the Role
You'll conduct cutting-edge research within our laboratory focused on understanding the neural mechanisms underlying learning and memory impairment. This role combines independent research investigation with collaborative participation in a dynamic, mission-driven research environment.
What You'll Do
- Design and execute neuroscience experiments to advance understanding of therapeutic targets for cognitive disorders
- Develop and refine experimental protocols and analytical methods for evaluating treatment efficacy
- Collect, analyze, and interpret complex neuroscientific data using appropriate statistical and computational approaches
- Collaborate with faculty members, graduate students, and research staff on multi-disciplinary research projects
- Prepare manuscripts and present findings at scientific conferences and departmental seminars
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and contribute to grant writing and research documentation
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent advanced degree in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical sciences, or related field
- Strong background in experimental neuroscience research and familiarity with cognitive neuroscience concepts
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, statistical software, and scientific computing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to rigorous scientific methodology
- Experience with animal research models and neurophysiological recording techniques is highly valued

East Harlem, also known as Spanish Harlem or El Barrio, and formerly Italian Harlem, is a neighborhood of Upper Manhattan in New York City, north of the Upper East Side and bounded by 96th Street to the south, Fifth Avenue to the west, and the East and Harlem Rivers to the east and north.
