The University of Miami is seeking a driven career development professional to serve as Assistant Director, Graduate Career Services at its Coral Gables, Miami-Dade County campus, guiding graduate students toward meaningful professional outcomes.
About the Role
As Assistant Director, Graduate Career Services, you will design and deliver career-focused programming and one-on-one advising for graduate students at the University of Miami Herbert Business School. This full-time, on-campus position in Coral Gables blends individual coaching, employer engagement, and strategic event planning to strengthen students' readiness for competitive job markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized career counseling and advising to graduate students pursuing internships and post-graduation employment.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate workshops, seminars, and career-readiness programming.
- Support students with résumé refinement, interview preparation, networking strategies, and job-search planning.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers and recruiters to expand opportunities for graduate students.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to align career services with academic programs.
- Track student outcomes and contribute to the continuous improvement of career services initiatives.
Qualifications
- A background in career services, higher education, advising, recruiting, or a closely related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach and motivate students.
- Experience planning and delivering programs, workshops, or events for diverse audiences.
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced academic environment.
- A commitment to supporting graduate student success and professional growth.
