Phoenix Home Care and Hospice is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Wichita, Kansas to bring skilled therapeutic care directly into patients' homes. As a part-time PTA, you'll support licensed physical therapists while making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals recovering from injury, managing chronic conditions, or receiving end-of-life care in their own community.

Role Overview

In this part-time position, you'll work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to deliver compassionate rehabilitation and mobility support to patients throughout the Wichita area. Whether assisting with therapeutic exercises, helping patients regain independence, or providing comfort-focused care, your clinical skills and patient empathy will be central to our mission. This role offers the flexibility of part-time work with the professional fulfillment of home-based healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Execute physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising physical therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities tailored to their recovery goals
  • Apply physical therapy modalities and techniques to reduce pain, improve strength, and restore movement
  • Monitor patient progress, respond to concerns, and communicate observations to the physical therapist
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during all treatments and transitions
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient sessions and therapeutic outcomes
  • Keep equipment clean, organized, and functioning properly

Qualifications

  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license issued by the State of Kansas
  • Completion of an accredited PTA educational program
  • Current CPR certification (BLS or ACLS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and clinical staff
  • Ability to work independently in patient homes while maintaining professional clinical standards
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Physical capability to assist patients with mobility and positioning
