Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Worker to join our team at Comcare Trust. This is a full-time position based in Sydenham, Christchurch, New Zealand, New Zealand. As a Peer Support Worker, you will leverage your personal experience of mental illness and/or addictions to support others in the community.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and practical support to individuals with mental health or addiction issues
- Facilitate group sessions and one-on-one meetings to promote recovery and well-being
- Help clients develop coping strategies and improve their quality of life in the community
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our clients
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 18 months' lived experience of mental illness or addiction issues
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting others in their recovery journey
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
